SMA part of Optum Care is seeking a dynamic board certified family medicine physician with experience in graduate medical education to join the VHS FM Residency as a full time Core Faculty Physician in the family medicine ambulatory continuity clinic.. Candidate must have a passion for providing clinical and educational guidance through resident oversight and didactic offerings as well as maintain active scholarship in concordance with ACGME requirements.. Faculty member will contribute to the growth and expansion of a primary care curriculum within a culture focused on innovation, compassionate relationships, integrity and excellence in performance maintaining the quadruple aim with the support of a diverse energetic and well trained team of medical assistants and an LPN supervisor and state of the art technological support.. The VHS FM residency is currently in its inaugural year and is an innovative collaboration between VHS, Roseman University, and Optum Care NV. This position offers a privileged opportunity of leadership as part of the growth of a novel and unique training program in an underserved area.

Teaches and implements the total curriculum, as assigned by, and under the direction and supervision of your direct supervisor.. Plans and assigns student activities in the classroom and/or clinical settings.. Assists in verifying correct coding and charge capture. Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.. Applies knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.. Acts as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.. : Programs portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery and provides instruction to the patient and/or caregiver in the use of the pump at home.

The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats residents, under orders from a physician, through the use of a variety of therapeutic procedures designed to restore loss of muscle strength, coordination and body alignment, to relieve pain and to improve movement and function.. Completes comprehensive assessments including OASIS data set within forty-eight (48) hours of referral for speech therapy services unless other arrangements are made.. Uses OASIS assessment tool and outcome reports to improve therapy services and client outcomes.. Performs in-home supervision of home health aides and physical therapy assistants as directed and according to Agency policy..
