Compensation: $110K–$150K Base + Bonus
A highly regarded alternative investment firm is looking to add a Trading Operations Associate / Trading Assistant to its growing team in New York. This is an excellent opportunity for a Middle Office / Investment Operations professional looking to move into a more sophisticated, high-touch environment where they will work closely with the investment team and have meaningful exposure to the full trade lifecycle. The firm has a lean, entrepreneurial culture with a collaborative team structure, strong investment platform, and an emphasis on developing its people. This is a role where someone can take ownership, work directly with senior professionals, and build a long-term career rather than being siloed within a large operations organization.
The Opportunity:
- Support day-to-day middle office and trading operations across a range of public market investments
- Manage trade processing, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations and exception resolution
- Work closely with internal investment professionals, counterparties, prime brokers and other external partners
- Support separately managed accounts and complex trade flows
- Help monitor and resolve operational issues from trade execution through settlement
- Partner across Operations, Trading and Investment teams to ensure the portfolio operates efficiently
- Take ownership of projects and process improvements as the platform continues to grow
- What They're Looking For3–7 years of experience in Middle Office, Investment Operations or Trade Operations
- Background within a hedge fund, asset manager or investment bank
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and settlement process
- Experience working with equities, derivatives and/or options
- Exposure to SMAs or multiple investment vehicles is a plus
- Detail-oriented, analytical and extremely organized
- Fast-moving, proactive and solutions-oriented
- Comfortable working in a lean environment where individuals have significant responsibility
- Strong academic background and demonstrated career progression
