Assembler (Nights) GP

Responsibilities: Perform general mechanical assembly of switch gears and panels. Utilize hand tools and power tools for fabrication of metal frames and enclosures. Conduct general labor tasks and move materials manually. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and bills of materials. Install and troubleshoot electrical gear components. Essential Skills 1+ years of manual labor experience. Ability to work in hot environments. Proficiency in reading tape measures. Experience with hand tools and power tools. Capability to work extensive hours.

Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience in industrial settings. Initiative and ability to work every day of the week. Background in roofing, landscaping, or similar jobs in hot environments. Experience in mechanical assembly, finish carpentry, or HVAC.

Work Environment: Located at 5914 East Sam Houston Parkway South, Houston, Texas, this medium-sized shop is one of four facilities, known for its clean and organized space. Although non-climate controlled, it features open bay doors with plenty of fans. The fast-paced production shop operates with approximately 15 people per shift, including machine operators, fabricators, QC staff, and material handlers, with plans for future powder coaters. The night shift runs Monday to Friday, from 6:00pm to 6:00am, typically involving 11-hour workdays, 5-6 days a week. The dress code includes steel toes, jeans, work shirt, and safety glasses.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
