Event Operations Manager Baltusrol Golf Club is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented hospitality professional to join our team as Event Operations Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a rising leader in private club, luxury hospitality, banquet, or event operations who is ready to take greater ownership of the event experience while continuing to grow as a hospitality professional. Reporting to the Clubhouse Manager, with a dotted-line relationship to the Director of Events, the Event Operations Manager (EOM) is responsible for the operational execution and overall success of all Club and private events, translating event plans into seamless, polished and memorable experiences for members and guests. The EOM serves as the primary operational leader for events and will personally lead most functions, including major Club events, weddings and other significant events. When concurrent events or other operational needs require another F&B Manager, Captain or leader to execute a function, the EOM retains responsibility for the consistency and success of event execution, ensuring leaders are prepared, expectations are clear, standards are upheld and appropriate follow-up occurs. The position works closely with the Events, Culinary, Beverage and F&B teams to ensure the vision and member expectations established during planning are carried through execution. The EOM will also play a significant role in strengthening banquet service standards, training and developing the team, and continually elevating the event experience at Baltusrol.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the operational execution and overall success of Club and private events, regardless of the F&B leader assigned to an individual function.
Personally lead most events, with responsibility for setup, readiness, service execution, timing, presentation, member and guest experience, and breakdown.
Lead major Club events, weddings and significant functions while effectively delegating responsibilities to F&B Managers, Captains and other leaders and maintaining accountability for the overall result.
Partner with the Clubhouse Manager to anticipate event leadership and management coverage needs, particularly when multiple events are operating concurrently.
Prepare and hold Managers, Captains and supervisors accountable to established event execution and service standards when they are assigned to lead functions.
Maintain a highly visible presence during events, engaging with members and guests while continuously monitoring service, presentation, timing and event flow.
Collaborate closely with Events and Culinary to ensure event plans, food presentation, timing, displays and service methods come together cohesively in the member and guest experience.
Lead, coach and develop banquet service employees through training, pre-shifts, real-time feedback and consistent reinforcement of standards.
Evaluate and strengthen banquet service standards, procedures and operating practices in partnership with the Clubhouse Manager.
Anticipate and resolve operational challenges calmly, quickly and discreetly.
Conduct post-event follow-up and use observations, member feedback and employee input to identify opportunities to improve future events.
During periods of reduced event activity, focus on training, operational improvements, preparation for the upcoming season and support of major Club event planning.
