The Mission: Defying the Status Quo to Build a New Legacy At Collegiate Academies, we don’t just run schools; we build engines of social mobility. We are at the absolute epicenter of the movement to send New Orleans and Baton Rouge students to college. While others talk about "potential," we produce results.
When we say "all scholars," we don't use it as a buzzword. We mean the scholars who arrived five years behind grade level, the 9th graders ready for AP English, the overaged students, and the scholars with IEPs, 504s, or BIPs. We believe every single one of them is college-bound. Our high schools boast the highest growth in our cities for populations that historically face the steepest mountains. We don’t just nudge the needle; we break it.
We're proud to revitalize the legacies and add the next great chapter to the storied histories of George Washington Carver, Marion Abramson, Walter L. Cohen, and Sarah T. Reed while establishing new legacies at Collegiate Baton Rouge and Opportunities Academy. Our successes in academics and college are mirrored in marching band, athletics, and leadership.
The Proof: Our Scholars Are Winning We don’t settle for "okay." We celebrate as our scholars crush barriers to enter the world’s most elite institutions and programs, including:
The Ivies & Elites: Brown University, Tulane University, and Grinnell College.
The Bridge Builders: Opportunities Academy, ULL LEP Program, and Next Level NOLA.
The Culture Bearers: Southern University, Alcorn State University, and Xavier University
The Game-Changers : Recipients of the Posse Foundation Scholarship, The Gates Scholarship, and TOPS.
Our Culture:
High Stakes, Higher Joy Working at CA is intense. We move fast, we pivot often, and we hold ourselves to a world-class standard. But here’s the secret: it’s also the most fun you’ll ever have.
No Silos, Only Teams: You won’t be left on an island. You’ll be surrounded by excellent teammates who obsess over your growth as much as their own. We evaluate our choices against the strongest examples of excellence to ensure our scholars win.
Radical Feedback: We are a "feedback is a gift" culture. Expect frequent in-person coaching, written deep-dives on projects, and real-time feedback. We don't do fluff; we do growth.
100% Engagement: Whether you’re the Principal or the Office Manager, you are a culture-builder. Everyone models and teaches college-ready habits. Everyone contributes to the " 100% of scholars thinking " goal.
Celebration as a Requirement: We work hard so we can celebrate harder. You’ll find us cheering at 7:00 AM for scholar milestones, dancing in the streets during Mardi Gras, and roaring at athletic playoff games.
