- The City of Nacogdoches Public Works Department is seeking a dedicated individual to join our Water Utilities team as a Plant Operator or Trainee in Wastewater Treatment.
- This is a great opportunity to start a career in municipal utilities! Prior experience is preferred, but not required. We will provide the training you need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:- Tour the plant regularly to check pumps, engines, generators, chlorinators and filters, ensuring all equipment runs smoothly.
- Collect water samples, perform standard laboratory tests and accurately log daily data.
- Adjust motors, valves and chemical feeds to keep operations within permit limits
- Assist with facility maintenance, repairs and groundskeeping.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.A valid Texas Driver license.
The ability to obtain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Class D Wastewater License within one (1) year of hire date. (Pay is dependent upon possession of Class A, B, C or D Wastewater License with certificate/license pay up to $200.00 per month, for additional TCEQ licenses).Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
- Working knowledge of wastewater treatment plant operations, safety procedures and permitting requirements.
