- Personal Assistant / Studio Assistant to Podcast Host & Legal Media Founder
- Part-Time | Astoria, Queens (LIC) | In Person
Pay: $30/hour
Hours: 15-20 with room to grow into fulltime for the right person
Help our growing legal media studio and keep it clean, organized and running smoothly. We just opened up a gorgeous recording studio engineered for top-quality video and audio recordings. I’m a court reporter, host of The Court Reporter Podcast, and owner of a small litigation support firm specializing in court reporting and legal transcript production. I am looking for a resourceful, organized assistant who enjoys taking initiative and getting things done. This role combines personal and business support with hands-on studio organization and management of everyday logistics.
Purchases, Orders & Returns:
We frequently purchase items for my business, studio improvements, personal projects, and volunteer initiatives. During busy projects, this creates a high volume of orders across retailers. I need someone to manage those purchases and follow through on returns so items, deadlines, and refunds don’t get overlooked. Research products based on my specifications, style preferences, budget, and deadlines. Place orders within agreed purchasing guidelines. Track deliveries and resolve missing, damaged, or incorrect orders. Match packages and loose items to order records, follow keep-or-return notes, and check with me about undecided items. Handle return requests, packaging, labels, pickups, and drop-offs. Confirm refunds are received and follow up until resolved. Maintain a simple purchase and return tracker if that helps you... however you do it is yours to decide, but overall, I need someone I can truly trust to take over managing my purchase & returns accounts! These are our own personal and business consumer purchases. This role does not involve running an online store, managing seller accounts, Shopify, or fulfilling customer orders.
Studio Organization & Support:
We’ll begin with an organizing project to establish where everything belongs. Your ongoing responsibility will be to maintain that system and notice what needs attention.
Walk through the studio when you arrive and handle routine needs without waiting for individual instructions.
Keep the storage closet organized and put items back in their designated places.
Break down empty shipping boxes once packaging is no longer needed for returns.
Handle light upkeep, including sweeping, vacuuming, and wiping surfaces as needed.
Manage snack and cleaning-supply inventories and replenish essentials within agreed budgets.
Keep the studio welcoming and ready for guests and recording sessions.
Coordinate deliveries, appointments, and service providers.
Identify missing supplies or other studio needs and follow through on resolving them.
Personal Assistance:- Help with personal tasks including errands and miscellaneous things that come up and get in the way of me being able to run my business.
- How We’ll WorkYou’ll have recurring responsibilities and a shared task list for new projects and needs. After training, you should know what to work on when you arrive unless I communicate different priorities.
- I’m looking for someone who takes ownership: notices what needs doing, makes sensible decisions within established guidelines, and follows tasks through to completion.
- Who Would Enjoy This RoleYou’re someone who:
- Is organized, dependable, and proactive... genuinely enjoys organizing and decluttering
- Enjoys creating order and maintaining practical systems.
- Pays attention to details, deadlines, and follow-up.
- Communicates clearly and can shift between recurring responsibilities and unexpected tasks.
- Is careful and discreet with personal information, business accounts, and confidential conversations.
Would enjoy spending time in a creative studio and becoming a trusted part of its everyday operation.- Thrives when things are vague, ambiguous, challenging, not clearly explained, and you have to figure things out and solve problems before escalating anything- aspiring legal professional or new legal professional interested in litigation- media professional (broadcasting, journalism, podcasting, radio, video, sound engineering, etc.)Location & Availability
