Camp Thorpe · Goshen, Vermont · Part-Time (15–20 hrs/week), HybridAre you a strong writer who loves a well-organized spreadsheet as much as a well-told story? Do you want your work to directly help a camper have the best summer of their life? Camp Thorpe is looking for a Development Coordinator to help power our fundraising program as we head into a milestone year: our 100th season. About Camp ThorpeFor 99 years, Camp Thorpe has given teens and adults with developmental disabilities a joyful, inclusive summer in Vermont's Green Mountains. Our community is small, close-knit, and deeply loved, and our 100th season lets us celebrate that legacy while building for the century ahead. That experience is made possible by people who believe in it. Donor and grant support fund roughly a third of our annual operating budget. Those gifts also underwrite our camper scholarship fund, which keeps camp accessible to every family, regardless of financial circumstance. In short, fundraising at Camp Thorpe is not an abstract exercise. Every grant submitted, appeal mailed, and thank-you letter sent helps a camper get to camp.
The Role:
As Development Coordinator, you will build out the administrative backbone of our fundraising program. You'll own the mechanics of development: grant research and reporting, appeal production, the donor database, and prospect research. That frees our Executive Director to focus on high-level donor relationships, major-gift conversations, and campaign strategy. This is a hands-on role in a small organization, which means your work will be visible and your ideas will matter. You'll help shape systems that don't fully exist yet, from a reliable grants calendar to the foundations of a planned giving program. If you enjoy writing, are comfortable with data and a donor CRM, and want to help a well-loved organization grow its fundraising capacity, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do:- GrantsResearch foundation and grant prospects that align with Camp Thorpe's mission and programs.
- Draft grant applications and reports with clear, compelling narratives.
- Maintain a grants calendar to keep deadlines, reporting requirements, and funder stewardship on track.
- Appeals and campaigns
- Produce our Spring and Year-End appeals, from drafting copy to coordinating mailings.
- Coordinate Giving Tuesday and other point-in-time campaigns.
- Help scale successful giving models like our Spring Matching Fund.
- Donor database and gift processing
- Maintain our donor database in Givebutter, including gift entry and list hygiene.
- Send timely, personal acknowledgment letters so every donor feels thanked.
- Prepare regular giving reports that help leadership and the Board see where we stand.
- Major and planned giving support
- Support prospect research and prepare cultivation materials for major and planned giving.
- Help establish Camp Thorpe's planned giving program, an important step toward long-term sustainability as we enter our second century.
- Donor communications and stewardship
- Draft donor-facing communications that share the impact of every gift.
- Coordinate with Board members and volunteers on appeal mailings and stewardship touchpoints.
- What You Bring
Experience:
1–3 years in nonprofit development, fundraising, or grant writing. We will consider equivalent experience in a related administrative or communications role, so if your background is a little unconventional, tell us about it.

Why Camp Thorpe?
Meaningful work: Your efforts directly fund camper scholarships and keep camp open to every family.
A milestone moment: Join us for our 100th season and help lay the groundwork for the next 100 years.
