Job Description
Essential Job Functions:- Provide instruction for developmentally appropriate learning activities for ages 2-5.
- Effective verbal communication with parents and young children.
- Encourage children to participate in activities through positive reinforcement and follow program guidelines for disciplining children, parent communication, class format, etc.
- Create lesson plans to develop fine and gross motor activities.
- Contribute to program ideas for enhancing the curriculum, assist with material preparation. Other Job Functions
- Maintain class attendance records.
- Effectively communicate with Coordinator and other preschool instructors.
- Keep current in class trends.
- Perform First Aid if needed.
Qualifications:- Be a strong communicator and class leader, providing a safe, fun, and challenging class for the participants.
- Certifications in Early Childhood preferred and/or teaching degree.
- Minimum high school degree or equivalent.
- Ability to provide an instructional and fun class environment.
- Ability to work assigned class schedule.
- Current certification in First Aid or ability to obtain within 3 months.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Wear appropriate City uniform.
- Adhere to and implement the City of Appleton and Departmental policies and procedures. Program Information
Program: Appletots Learning Center - Preschool
Employment Season: September – April Thursday's 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required
Work Location: Appleton City Center Studios
Education Level Required: High School Student or two years experience in the field.
Pay Grade: 3Benefits
This position is a non-benefited position with the City of Appleton.
