Job Title: Bus Driver (Anticipated)
Opening Date: August 24, 2026 - Closing Date: Until filled - FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: Based on BCSS Salary Schedule - Expected Workday: 4 hours per day
Terms of Employment: 9-Month - Reports To: Director of Transportation Job Goals: Maintains the safety of students on the bus
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED 1 years' experience as a bus driver preferred Alabama Commercial CDL Driver's License CDL With Endorsement for Air Brake, Passenger, and School Bus Alabama State Certification Card Attend 12 hours of class, Complete a Pre-Trip Inspection, Skills Test, Road Test, Drug Test Complete or have completed the fingerprinting and background check process Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Pre-trip inspections Post trip bus inspections Maintain discipline on the bus Maintain safe driving record Performs related work as required Inspects busses as required by Federal, State, and Local regulations Files necessary reports and maintains files Follow all school board policies Other duties as may be assigned by transportation supervisor
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boaz City Board of Education.
