Tasting Room Supervisor South Coast Winery Resort & Spa is seeking an experience Tasting Room Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience in a retail environment, have a knowledge of wine and a proven record in exceptional customer service. Some essential duties include: assisting in promoting the sale of wine and non-wine products sold in the tasting room; utilizing cash register and POS system to transact sales and maintain tasting room wine inventories; reconciling daily sales and posting transaction; ensuring tasting room and inventory areas are clean, neat and stocked at all times; describing wines, wine making techniques and winery history; answering visitor's questions about wines; acquiring and maintaining thorough knowledge of winery and its wines; assigning duties and monitoring quality of work; providing day to day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively working to promote and recognize performance; keeping up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions; assisting with the cleanliness and maintenance of the bar area; racking glasses and cleaning during downtime; preparing designated bar for daily wine tasting and conducting tasting with guests guiding them on their selections and teaching them about the varietals and styles of wine; alerting department head when wine inventory needs are running low; providing assistance with inventory as needed; attending departmental meetings as required; and ability to work a flexible schedule including a majority of weekend shifts.
Compensation:
