Travel RN - Med/SurgAmerican TravelerCharleston, West Virginia, United StatesAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13$1,836.74/week (estimated advertised weekly pay) Work in a 29-bed Medical Surgical/Oncology unitAdult patient population including medical and surgical oncology, palliative care, urology, and telemetry patientsPatient ratios of 4-5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nightsNight shift, 3x12 hours (7p-7a), weekdays with every other weekend required36 or 48hr contract options availableFloating within scope required to meet facility needsBlocked schedule requests accommodatedUses Cerner charting systemActive WV or compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)BLS certification requiredONCC/ONS chemotherapy certification requiredMinimum 2 years RN experience requiredChemotherapy administration experience preferredSkills required: telemetry, central line draws, port access, blood administration, PCA pumps, bone marrow aspiration assist, and Pleurx chest tube managementTeaching hospital experience preferredMinimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years requiredCerner charting experience requiredCare for medical and surgical oncology patients, including palliative care and family education on oncological processesFacility will consider strong candidates without prior oncology experienceLocated within a Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital affiliated with the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH) Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue/White for RNsFlu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented; COVID vaccine not requiredCandidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility, though those within 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-caseFormer permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a travelerCurrent employees of the broader health system (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the systemHoliday RTO requests limited to no more than 1 of 3 major holidaysFirst-time travelers are not preferred for this role
