About the opportunity:
Cleveland Plant & Flower Company, a family business serving the floral industry since 1913, is looking for a dependable, personable Sales Representative to join our Parma team. This is a hands-on role that combines relationship-based sales, customer service, and teamwork in our wholesale floral operation. This is a business-to-business (B2B) sales role. Our customer base primarily consists of florists, floral designers, Event Planners, Schools, Churches, and small specialty floral businesses, but we also serve businesses outside the floral industry. You will help business customers source fresh flowers and floral supplies, build relationships with current customers, and develop new business. You will train by shadowing a current sales representative and working alongside an experienced sales team.
What you will do:
- Develop new business through prospecting, outreach, and customer visits, both within the floral industry and among other businesses that can use our products.· Build and maintain relationships with existing customers, identify their needs, and recommend fresh flowers and floral supplies.· Actively sell available fresh flowers and floral supplies, including vases, boxes, and other floral essentials.· Stay in regular contact with customers about orders, flower shipments, and delivery updates.· Learn flower varieties, product characteristics, seasonal availability, and floral industry trends.· Assist with morning receiving, including breaking down pallets of boxed flowers and checking incoming shipments for quantity and condition.· Help drivers load delivery vans so orders can get on the road promptly.· Count fresh cooler inventory every other week and help maintain accurate product counts.· Work closely with the sales, warehouse, and delivery teams to resolve customer needs and keep daily operations moving.

- Strong people skills and clear communication.· A proactive approach to selling, following up, and finding new customers.· Dependability and readiness for a 6:00 a.m. start.· Attention to detail, organization, and practical problem-solving skills.· A willingness to learn flowers, floral supplies, and the wholesale floral business.· A team-first attitude and willingness to help with receiving and loading duties.· Ability to perform the role's physical duties, including standing, moving boxed product, and working in refrigerated coolers, with reasonable accommodation as needed.· Sales or customer-service experience is helpful; candidates eager to learn are encouraged to apply. Training and work environment You will receive hands-on training by shadowing a current representative and learning from our experienced sales team. Mornings include operational support; the remainder of the day focuses on active selling, customer communication, prospecting, and customer visits. Schedule and seasonal expectations The role starts at 6:00 a.m. to support morning operations. Parma store hours are 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. During peak floral holidays—including Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Sweetest Day—additional hours may be required before and/or after the regular shift to meet customer demand and support operations. Flexibility during these busy periods is an expectation of the position. Sales tools and equipment Sales calls will be made using a personal cell phone or a provided store landline. A company-provided laptop or desktop computer will be supplied upon hire for business use only. The company’s ERP system is a web based state-of-the-art operational platform.
