Job Summary:
Mo-Kan Trailer Repair is seeking a skilled SemiTrailer Mechanic with a strong emphasis on trailer bodywork and general trailer repair. This role includes structural and cosmetic repairs-such as panel replacement, welding, and frame work-as well as routine maintenance and mechanical tasks like lighting, brakes, and suspension. The ideal candidate has experience working with dry vans, reefers, and flatbeds, and takes pride in high-quality, safety-focused work.
Responsibilities:
- Repair damaged trailer bodies: replace panels, roofs, floors, and sidewallsPerform welding, fabrication, and frame work (MIG welding preferred)
- Conduct inspections to assess damage and plan repair strategyOperate shop tools and equipment (including forklifts)
- Maintain a clean and safe work environmentCommunicate with the team to ensure efficient workflowAssist with light mechanical tasks as needed
Qualifications:
1+ year of hands-on trailer body repair experience (Required) Welding and fabrication skillsExperience with dry vans, reefers, and flatbedsAbility to lift/move heavy equipment and work in various weather conditionsStrong attention to detailWelding certification or vocational training is a plusMust be able to reliably commute to Kansas City, MO 64101
