VP Business Counsel Hybrid | Full-Time | $220,000-270,000 Intro A specialty insurance carrier is expanding its legal team and looking for an experienced insurance attorney to take ownership of the Travel and Accident & Health portfolio.
Responsibilities:- Serve as legal point-of-contact for the Travel/A&H business, weighing in on product design, marketing claims, and distribution strategy before they go live
- Structure and negotiate agreements with distribution partners, vendors, and program administrators
- Stay ahead of shifting state and federal insurance rules and flag risk to the business early
- Support new product and digital distribution launches from a legal risk standpoint
Qualifications & Requirements:- JD and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state 8+ years of legal experience (in-house or law firm), with a background in insurance regulatory/compliance, personal lines, transactional, or corporate work
- Comfortable navigating a state-by-state insurance regulatory framework
- Skilled at commercial contract negotiation, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration across all levels of an organization
- Background in Travel insurance, embedded/point-of-sale insurance, or digital distribution a plus
