Cost Accountant
Location: Northeast Ohio (On-Site)
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000
About the Opportunity:
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This individual will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working cross-functionally and contributing to a collaborative, results-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
Support month-end and year-end close activities.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate account variances.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Support inventory and cost accounting activities, including variance analysis.
Assist with fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
Coordinate with external auditors and provide requested documentation.
Partner with operations, purchasing, and other departments to support business objectives.
Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.Manufacturing experience is preferred.
Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
