Staff Accountant

Responsibilities: Prepare and post journal entries. Reconcile general ledger, bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules. Analyze financial data and resolve account discrepancies. Support Accounts Payable by reviewing invoices, processing payments, and maintaining vendor records. Support Accounts Receivable by preparing invoices, posting payments, monitoring aging reports, and following up on outstanding balances. Assist with payroll reconciliations and payroll accounting. Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Prepare sales tax reports and support internal and external audits. Assist with inventory reconciliations and cost accounting. Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.

Qualifications: RequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience. Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERP or accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred: Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Manufacturing, distribution, produce, agriculture, or warehouse accounting experience. Inventory and cost accounting experience. CPA or CPA candidate. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
