Daley College is currently seeking a part-time Faculty to teachEnglish during the Spring 2027 semester. If you have passion forteaching and learning and are committed to the mission of thecommunity college, consider joining our team. The ideal candidatewill have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing andusing effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverseneeds and engage the student in critical thinking andproblem-solving. General education composition courses will be thepromary courses taught.
Please note:
This position may require full in-personinstruction, as hybrid schedules are not guaranteed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design courses to meet learning outcomes and promote students’active participation in their own learning.
Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’intellectual curiosity and helps students to solve problems usingdiscipline-specific thinking strategies.
Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensurethat classroom instruction leads to student learning and theattainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
Help students reach their academic, personal and career goals andfoster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people andideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidencein every student’s ability to learn.
Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academicand professional communities and promote collaboration and teamworkamong members of these communities.
Qualifications: External
Master’s Degree in English Language & Literature orESL/TESOL
Knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System, preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability tocommunicate with diverse group of staff and students required
Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population isdesired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of thecommunity college.
