Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, accurately identifying their emotional and psychological needs. Deliver individual and group therapy sessions addressing emotional challenges associated with aging, including depression, anxiety, and grief related to life changes. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement personalized care plans specific to each geriatric client. Provide education and resources to family members and caregivers to enhance their understanding of mental health issues affecting their loved ones. Facilitate bereavement counseling for both residents and families coping with loss and end-of-life care. Design and implement cognitive stimulation activities and therapeutic interventions to improve mental acuity among seniors. Patient Population / Client FocusThis role primarily focuses on seniors, a diverse population who may be experiencing a range of mental health challenges. Our clients often deal with significant life transitions, including retirement, loss of loved ones, and changes in health status. You will be instrumental in helping them navigate these changes, providing empathy, understanding, and tailored therapeutic strategies to enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications: A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution. A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in Washington State. Four or more years of recent experience working with the geriatric population and providing mental health support. Specialization or additional training in geriatric mental health and related issues is highly desirable. Demonstrable understanding of evidence-based practices specifically geared towards enhancing mental well-being in older adults. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to connect effectively with elderly clients and their families. Strong analytical skills to conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Knowledge of ethical and legal standards relevant to geriatric mental health practice.

Preferred Experience: Experience in delivering cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or similar modalities to seniors. Familiarity with community resources available to support elder mental health and wellness. Proven track record of effective collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Compensation and Benefits: Envision Counseling Center offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education. Additionally, a sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates.
