Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Physician Assistant for temporary inpatient behavioral health coverage with Ascension Northeast Wisconsin. The provider will support an adult and geriatric inpatient psychiatric population and work closely with an interdisciplinary behavioral health team. This assignment is covering an existing APP s FMLA and scheduled time off. Schedule Monday Friday 7:30 AM 4:00 PM 30-minute lunch No weeknight call No overnight call No 24-hour call No weekends currently listed Clinical Responsibilities The APP will provide comprehensive clinical coverage for an inpatient behavioral health unit and may be responsible for: Psychiatric follow-up visits New patient admissions Discharge management Psychiatric medication management Evaluation of acute behavioral health conditions Urgent clinical evaluations as needed Participation in interdisciplinary treatment planning Real-time documentation with charting completed by the end of the shift Patient Volume Approximately 8 12 patient encounters per day 16-bed inpatient behavioral health unit Adult and geriatric patient population Patient volume may vary depending on acuity, admissions, discharges, clinical emergencies, staffing, and other patient-care responsibilities. Patient safety and quality of care take priority over encounter volume.
Requirements:
Active Wisconsin license required Client is not able to wait for state licensure Current national certification appropriate to provider role Current DEA registration Inpatient psychiatry or behavioral health experience strongly preferred Experience with psychiatric medication management Experience managing acute behavioral health conditions Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary inpatient treatment team ACLS required BLS as required by facility policy Must be eligible for hospital privileges and credentialing Facility Information Primary Facility: Ascension NE Wisconsin Mercy Hospital Inpatient Behavioral Health
