Animal Welfare Advocate - $20/hr Guaranteed + Bonuses
$20/hr guaranteed + daily bonus opportunities | 21-35 hours/week | Los Angeles | Paid training
Love animals? Put that passion to work.
We're growing our fundraising team and looking for outgoing, motivated people who care about animals and want their work to have an impact.
You'll work face-to-face with the public, starting conversations about animal welfare and inspiring people to become monthly donors supporting important nonprofit work.
No fundraising experience is required.
We'll teach you how to fundraise. You bring the personality, resilience, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
What You'll Actually Do
This is an active, people-facing job.
You'll spend your shifts working with a fundraising partner or team throughout Los Angeles. You'll approach members of the public, start conversations, explain the campaign you're representing, answer questions, and ask people to become monthly supporters.
You'll learn how to:
Start conversations confidently with strangers
Talk about animal welfare in an engaging and respectful way
Tell compelling stories
Ask directly for support
Handle questions and objections
Work toward clear fundraising goals
Apply coaching and improve your approach
Fair warning: this isn't a desk job.
You'll spend much of your shift outdoors, walking, standing, and talking with people.
Some conversations will be great. Some people won't be interested. You'll hear "no."
The people who do well here learn to reset quickly, stay positive, and keep going.
$20/hr Guaranteed - This Isn't Commission-Only Work
Your $20/hour starting wage is guaranteed.
You'll also have opportunities to earn daily performance bonuses on top of your hourly wage.
We provide paid training, regular coaching, and support from experienced team leaders. Fundraising is goal-oriented work, so you'll also be expected to apply feedback, remain reliable, and work toward clear performance goals.
If you like challenging yourself, getting better at something, and seeing your results improve, you may really enjoy fundraising.
Turn Your Passion for Animals Into Action
The nonprofit campaigns our teams represent work on important animal welfare issues.
Depending on the campaign and current priorities, that can include work connected to:
Preventing animal cruelty and suffering
Protecting companion animals
Helping animals affected by disasters
Improving conditions for farmed animals
Protecting wildlife and habitats
Ending harmful practices involving animals
Public education and advocacy
Creating long-term change for animals
You don't need to already be an animal welfare expert.
You do need to care, be willing to learn, and feel comfortable discussing these issues with people from many different backgrounds.
$20/hour guaranteed starting wage
Daily performance bonus opportunities
Regular pay reviews
Paid training from day one
Approximately 21-35 hours per week
Full-time and part-time opportunities
Health, dental, and vision benefits for eligible full-time employees and their families after 3 months

Schedule
Team members must be able to commit to at least 3 complete 7-hour shifts per week (21 hours minimum).
Current shifts generally include:
10:00 AM-5:00 PM
12:00 PM-7:00 PM
Our teams work at changing outreach locations throughout Los Angeles. You'll need to reliably get to your team's meeting point and be comfortable travelling with your team to different fundraising locations.
You Might Be Great at This If...
You're someone who:
Genuinely cares about animals
Likes meeting and talking with new people
Communicates confidently
Is comfortable starting conversations with strangers
Likes goals and seeing yourself improve
Is reliable and open to feedback
Would rather be active than sit behind a desk all day
Experience in animal welfare, shelters or rescues, advocacy, hospitality, retail, customer service, theatre or performance, sales, fundraising, community organizing, education, or other public-facing work can translate really well.
But experience isn't required.
