The Axel Group is seeking a Cost Accountant for our client's team. This role involves providing detailed analysis of costs related to equipment, consumables, products, and maintenance to support management decision-making and improve profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and track overhead costs, equipment expenses, and maintenance costs
- Assist in preparing monthly budgets in collaboration with Business Unit Management
- Maintain and summarize capital investments and assist with related audits and ledger functions
- Allocate internal rent and other costs to regional projects
- Support capital budgeting and fixed asset management
- Identify and recommend potential areas for cost savings
- Reconcile accounts and processes as needed
- Support inventory management through physical inventories and cycle count monitoring
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closings
- Develop tracking and reporting tools for financial analysis
- Process intercompany rebills
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory control, and job costing methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems, inventory management software, and financial reporting tools
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Compensation: Salary range up to $70,000-90,000 annually (depending on experience)
