I am hiring for my client, a well-established construction organization in Phoenix, that is adding a Project Cost Accountant to its team due to continued growth.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business, partnering with project teams, and seeing how their work directly impacts active projects. You do not need to come from a traditional cost accounting background. The team is open to different experience levels and is willing to train someone who brings the right attitude, accounting foundation, and willingness to learn.
What You'll Do:
Partner closely with Project Managers and operations teams
Maintain accurate job cost information and project accounting records
Process project-related invoices, labor costs, and AP
Assist with project billing and supporting documentation
Ensure costs are accurately allocated to jobs
Provide timely financial information to help project teams make decisions
Support collections, lien releases, and other project accounting needs
What They're Looking For
Accounting-related experience preferred, but they are flexible on level
Cost accounting or construction experience is a plus, not a requirement
Recent graduates and candidates with transferable project coordination/accounting experience are encouraged to apply
Strong communication skills and a collaborative personality
Comfortable working in Excel
Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn
Someone looking for stability and a place to build a long-term career
