Accounting Controller

Key Responsibilities: Oversee all dealership accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and prepare accurate, timely financial statements. Supervise and develop accounting personnel, including office managers, bookkeepers, and accounting clerks. Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, floorplan statements, and manufacturer schedules. Monitor contracts in transit, vehicle inventory, receivables, payables, and aged schedules. Oversee vehicle deal posting, funding, factory incentives, warranty receivables, and manufacturer statements. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with dealership accounting policies and regulatory requirements. Work closely with the General Manager and corporate executive team to analyze financial performance, identify discrepancies, and improve operational efficiency. Ensure timely reporting and resolution of accounting issues.

Required Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a high-volume franchised automotive dealership. Proficiency in Reynolds & Reynolds DMS is required. Strong knowledge of automotive dealership accounting, financial statement preparation, and general ledger management. Experience with factory financial statements, floorplan reconciliations, vehicle inventory, and dealership accounting schedules. Proven ability to manage an accounting team and meet strict reporting deadlines. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
