HATT et SÖNER
Six-month launch engagement, with a path to full-time Maybe we cannot change the world, but we believe we can change Champagne. HATT et SÖNER is an exclusive boutique champagne house in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, now launching in the United States. We are best known for Personal Vintage - bespoke champagne fully made to a client's own recipe, in their own name, from their own vintage, paired with a large number of events and experiences during a 4 year journey. We like to call it The World's Most Exclusive Champagne Experience. We are small, we move fast, and we are not like everybody else. The role:
This is a private client role, not a distribution role. Equal parts hunter and relationship management. You will build demand for Personal Vintage, Family Reserve allocations, and Hatt Club memberships among collectors, founders, family offices, private clubs, and the people who host the dinners everyone wants to be at. You own the relationship and the close. You will be employed by our U.S. subsidiary and report directly to our U.S. Managing Partner in L.A. and global Head of Sales in Europe. The first six months constitute a launch engagement with a clear revenue target and a compensation model weighted heavily toward commission. That is deliberate. We would rather prove California together with real numbers than with a long hiring process. Hit the target and the role converts to full-time with a higher base and a broader mandate: on-premise accounts, private clubs, events, and the rest of the West Coast.
What you will do:
Close. Personal Vintage, Family Reserve, and Hatt Club memberships. Own the full cycle - prospecting, tastings, proposals, negotiation, close. Build the network. Collectors, private club managers, family offices, event planners, and the members of the clubs where our clients already spend their weekends. Referrals will carry this role. Host. Run champagne tastings, private dinners and exclusive events on your own. You are often the only person from the house in the room, and while you are there, You are the House. Report. Keep the pipeline current in the CRM (HubSpot). Weekly reporting to managers.
Who you are:
A hunter and a closer. You would rather be measured on revenue than on activity. However, we know that activity creates revenue.
A relationship builder and social animal. Comfortable in rooms with people who have money and taste, and unbothered by either. You probably spend a lot of your private spare time in these settings already.
Independent. You will not be managed daily and would not enjoy it if you were.
Already connected in California hospitality, luxury, or private wealth.
Champagne and general wine knowledge is a plus, not a requirement; however, curiosity and willingness to learn are.
Willing to travel across California, occasionally other parts of the U.S. and Champagne.
Willing to work many late nights. You are probably a single in your 20s or 30s.
What you will need:
Proven sales results within luxury goods, private client services, or hospitality.
A network you can call on Monday morning.
Authorization to work in the United States. We are not sponsoring visas for this role.
A valid driver's license and your own transportation.
Fluent English. French or Swedish is a bonus.
Appetite for a compensation model where most of the upside is commission.
Compensation:
Months 1-6: base of $1,000 per month plus generous commission on clients you have sourced and closed. Commission is uncapped.
Realistic first-six-month earnings: If successful, $5,000-$10,000 per month, based on our Northern European sales history. Strong performance goes meaningfully above that.
On conversion to full-time: base of at least $3500 per month plus commission, with on-target earnings at minimum twice base.
Travel and client entertainment covered against an approved budget.
We will be straight with you about the numbers before you sign anything, including what we have and have not yet achieved in the US.Why HATT et SÖNER
You would be the first person on the ground in our largest untapped market along with our U.S. Founding Partners. Personal Vintage is close to half our revenue and there is nothing like it on a California wine list. The house is small enough that what you sell this month shows up in what we produce next year. If you want a territory to build rather than a territory to maintain, tell us what you would do with California in your first ninety days.
