APPLY NOWSenior Sales Executive – Diagnostics | USAFully Remote | Nationwide Territory | Pharmacogenetics & Newborn Screening
About the Company:
I'm partnering with an established and growing European diagnostics company as it looks to expand its commercial presence across North America. The business specialises in innovative IVD diagnostic solutions, with a particular focus on pharmacogenetics (PGx), newborn screening (NBS) and precision medicine. With an established European operation and a growing portfolio of diagnostic solutions, the company is now looking to make a key commercial hire to spearhead its expansion into the US market.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial, commercially driven diagnostics sales professional to take ownership of developing the US business from the ground up. As one of the company's first key commercial hires in North America, you'll have the autonomy to identify new opportunities, establish customer relationships and build a sustainable sales pipeline.
The initial focus will be heavily weighted towards new business development, particularly within pharmacogenetics, before evolving into a combination of business development and strategic account management as the customer base grows. We're looking for a genuine hunter who enjoys opening doors, developing new markets and taking ownership of commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and expansion of the company's US diagnostics business, initially focusing on pharmacogenetics.
Identify, prospect and secure new business opportunities across clinical laboratories, reference laboratories, hospitals and diagnostic service providers.
Build a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and establish a customer base from scratch.
Develop relationships with laboratory directors, commercial decision-makers, clinical stakeholders and other key influencers.
Manage the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and technical discussions through to commercial negotiations and closing.
Work closely with European colleagues to support market entry, product positioning and commercial strategy.
Develop a strong understanding of customer needs, laboratory workflows and the competitive landscape.
Transition towards strategic account management as the US customer base develops.
About You:
- Proven experience in sales or business development within the US diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, clinical laboratory or genetic testing markets.
- Strong track record of winning new business, opening accounts and developing sales territories.
- Experience selling diagnostic products, testing solutions or laboratory technologies.
- Good understanding of laboratory workflows, validation processes and diagnostic purchasing decisions.
- Familiarity with the US healthcare landscape, including reimbursement and laboratory funding models.
- Self-motivated, commercially ambitious and comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Particularly Interesting Backgrounds
- Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
- Pharmacogenetics (PGx) and pharmacogenomics
- Molecular diagnostics and genetic testing
- Newborn screening (NBS)
- Clinical genomics and precision medicine
- Laboratory diagnostics and reference laboratory sales
- Location & TravelFully remote – United States
- Nationwide commercial responsibility
- Approximately 50–70% travel, including occasional international travel
- Why Consider This Opportunity?
- This isn't a traditional sales role where you'll inherit an established territory or existing customer portfolio.
- You'll have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in establishing the US commercial operation of an already successful European diagnostics business.
- For someone who enjoys building markets, winning new customers and having a genuine impact on business growth, this represents a particularly interesting opportunity.
