About the Role:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close and financial reporting process, working closely with the Controller and broader accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Responsibilities:- Manage key aspects of the monthly and year-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Analyze account balances and investigate discrepancies or unusual activity
- Support the preparation of schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
- Assist with budget-to-actual analysis and other financial reporting as needed
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
- Maintain compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies
- Assist the Controller with special projects and other accounting initiatives
Qualifications:- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Candidates from both public accounting and corporate accounting backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Strong experience with or exposure to monthly close and financial reporting
- Solid understanding of US GAAPExperience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals
- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Public accounting experience with exposure to financial statement audits is a plus
- Fashion, retail, consumer products, or other branded-company experience is preferred but not required
