The federated operating model ensures minimal overlaps and reduced handoffs of data attributes across the data lifecycle. Federated data domains (data domains) are defined according to the various types of data originated and consumed by the enterprise (transactional, derived and master/reference), and in such manner that there are no unclaimed or overlapping data elements between two domains.
