We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Certified Forklift Driver to support warehouse and distribution operations in Des Moines, Iowa. The ideal candidate will have forklift operating experience, a strong commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to move, load, unload, and organize materials efficiently. Responsibilities:
Safely operate a forklift to move, load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility.
Load and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles as needed.
Move products to designated storage areas and maintain organized inventory locations.
Assist with shipping, receiving, staging, and inventory control.
Perform pre-shift forklift inspections and report equipment defects or safety concerns.
Follow company safety procedures, applicable OSHA standards, and warehouse operating guidelines.
Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be 18 years old.
Previous forklift operating experience preferred.
Current forklift certification preferred; candidates must meet applicable employer training and evaluation requirements before operating equipment.
OSHA Forklift training and workplace-specific evaluations must be completed before independent operation.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Prior warehouse or distribution experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the shift.
Ability to lift and carry materials as required by the position.
Ability to work safely around moving equipment, warehouse traffic, and loading docks.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a warehouse or distribution facility and may involve operating equipment around active shipping and receiving areas. Working conditions and temperatures may vary depending on the facility. Compensation and Schedule
