Job Description The Town of Vinton Public Works Department is seeking dependable, safety‐focused Equipment Operators to support essential community operations and maintenance. This position plays a key role in keeping Vinton’s streets and public infrastructure functioning smoothly for our residents. Key Responsibilitieso Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, skid steers, and other machinery used in Public Works operationso Perform street maintenance, utility work, snow removal, storm response, and other municipal service taskso Conduct daily equipment inspections and report necessary maintenanceo Follow all town, state, and federal safety policies and procedureso Assist with manual labor and crew duties when equipment operation is not requiredo Work collaboratively with Public Works teams to complete projects efficiently and safely Qualificationso Previous experience operating heavy equipment preferredo Valid Virginia driver’s license; CDL Class B or ability to obtain requiredo Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditionso Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamworko High school diploma or equivalent preferred Benefitso Competitive pay and overtime opportunitieso 40 hours of paid leave upon hireo $2000.00 Sign on bonuso Health, dental, and retirement benefits through the Town of Vintono Zero cost to employee with certain planso Uniforms and safety equipment providedo Training and advancement opportunities within Public WorksHow to Applyo In person at:o Town of Vinton’s Public Work’s Department (804 3rd Streeto HR Department (227 S.
