Mechanical Engineer

Location: Waukegan, IL

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Job Summary: We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with hands-on experience in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and product development. The candidate will be responsible for designing mechanical components and assemblies, creating engineering drawings, supporting prototypes, and collaborating with manufacturing and electrical engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities: Develop 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks and PTC Creo. Create 2D engineering drawings and apply GD&T.Design sheet-metal parts, brackets, panels, chassis, and enclosures. Develop mechanical packaging for electrical and electronic components. Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).Support prototype builds, testing, and design verification. Work with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve design issues. Support product improvements, engineering changes, and production releases. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.

Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.3–5 years of mechanical design experience. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and working experience with PTC Creo. Experience with 3D modeling, assemblies, and 2D drawings. Sheet-metal design and fabrication. GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes. Experience with BOMs and cross-functional engineering collaboration.

Preferred Skills: Experience with electrical enclosures or electromechanical products. Knowledge of thermal management, airflow, cable routing, and wire harnesses.
