Job Description:
They are the ones that design and implement new transmission or distribution lines, so have to keep an eye on the clearances needed to keep the high voltage on the line and not arcing to some tree or tower. Sr Engineer, High Voltage Cable DesignThe Senior Engineer, High Voltage Cable Design will be responsible for designing and analyzing underground high-voltage transmission cable systems, developing engineering solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design complete high-voltage cable systems, including grounding details, bonding schemes, and fiber optic components for voltage classes up to 500kV.Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the electro-mechanical behavior of high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) cable systems.
Develop engineering drawings, production specifications, and technical documentation to meet customer requirements.
Lead technical presentations and training sessions for clients and industry forums.
Support manufacturing processes, including test planning and troubleshooting production issues.
Drive Research & Development (R&D) initiatives to enhance cable systems and materials.
