Senior Sales Associate

Music & Arts seeks a Senior Sales Associate to drive results in a student-focused retail environment. You’ll guide customers in selecting band and orchestra instruments, accessories, and lessons, support rentals and school service programs, and maintain strong relationships with educators and families. Responsibilities include consultative selling, accurate POS transactions, merchandising, and assisting with events and lesson enrollment. Ideal candidates have previous retail or music sales experience, strong product knowledge, and a passion for music education and community engagement. Drive in-store sales of instruments, accessories, and lessons to meet and exceed targets Provide knowledgeable, student-focused product recommendations and solutions Support rental programs, school services, and educator partnerships Process sales, returns, and rentals accurately using POS systems Maintain merchandising standards, signage, and inventory organization Assist with store events, lesson enrollment, and community outreach Resolve customer issues with professionalism and follow-up Train and mentor junior associates on products and sales practices Collaborate with store leadership on daily priorities and performance goals Uphold company policies, loss prevention, and a safe, inclusive environment Retail sales Point-of-sale (POS) systems Music instrument product knowledge Customer relationship management Merchandising and store presentation Inventory management Cash handling and reconciliation Sales reporting and goal tracking Lesson and rental program enrollment Conflict resolution and customer issue handling Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Background in music performance, education, or theory preferred Prior experience in musical instrument retail or school music programs Sales or customer service training certifications a plus Ability to pass background checks required for working with students and schools
