Industrial Air Compressor Field Technician
Location: Staunton/Roanoke/Lynchburg, VA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Compensation: Starting at $25.00–$35.00 per hour (full-time, hourly) + $3,000 sign-on bonus
What your day looks like:
You start your morning from home, hop into your company vehicle, and head to customer sites within a three-hour radius. One visit might be commissioning a new rotary screw unit; the next could be troubleshooting a Centac or ECC compressor with precision measuring tools at your side. You’ll read schematics, check operating parameters, swap components, and validate performance so systems run to spec. Along the way, you’ll speak with operators and plant leaders, explain findings in plain language, and suggest proactive services like Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits, and Leak Detection. As jobs wrap up, you coordinate parts with the Service Coordinator, log details on your tablet or smartphone, and share tips with an apprentice or fellow tech you’re mentoring. On start-ups, you provide hands-on support to ensure equipment operates to the customer’s requirements, with limited guidance from a Master Technician.
