Role: Technology Editor & Events Host Location: New York (Hybrid)
Salary:
$120,000 - $150,000 About GDS GroupGDS Group is a B2B executive events business running summits, roundtables, showcases and digital summits for senior leaders across technology, security, marketing, customer experience, banking and supply chain. Our model is simple: bring the right executives into the room, put the right problems on the agenda, and make sure the conversations are worth the trip. We want the person who can stand on a summit stage in front of 100 CIOs and CISOs, chair a roundtable of twelve of them without letting a sponsor turn it into a demo, and then go back to the office and help shape the content behind the delivery of their next engagement. As a GDS Technology Editor and Events Host you’ll serve as a highly credible voice in the room on how senior technology leaders actually implement new technology; both internally and externally, fuelling the conversation and getting the leaders at the centre of the world’s technological transformation talking. Why this role existsGDS Group runs physical and digital summits, roundtables and executive dinners for C-suite technology leaders across North America and Europe. Our delegates are C-Suite and VP level leaders shaping the future of industry through technological transformation. Our sponsors are the technology vendors who are there to help them in their challenges and provide the right solution pathways. This role helps build compelling content designed to help forge those relationships whilst ensuring the highest value to our executive audiences, as well as the delivery of that content in a live environment. You will host summits and chair roundtables in both a physical and digital environment. You will shape the themes our events are built around whilst ensuring sessions are value and outcomes driven. You will work alongside the production team and the marketing team, and be a senior representative leading the editorial judgment required to ensure engaging, credible and well positioned events. What you will own On stage and in the room Host plenary sessions, keynote interviews and fireside chats at GDS physical summits in the US.Chair executive roundtables and sponsored dinners, in person and virtual, for groups of eight to fifteen senior technology leaders. Draw out the quiet CIO, rein in the loud one, keep the sponsor to their brief. Interview C-suite guests for podcast series and editorial engagements. Positioning and agenda Set the editorial direction of each summit in your verticals: work with production and event partners to ascertain the two or three themes the event is about, the problems delegates are actually trying to solve, and the people worth hearing on them. Build the content case for every event with the production and marketing teams, so the agenda, the delegate campaign and the sponsor pitch all tell the same story. Keep a live view of what senior technology leaders are implementing, stalling on and arguing about, and feed it back into event positioning. Sponsor content and quality control Review sponsored, roundtable briefs and dinner topics as the agendas are built. Approve the ones that give delegates value and work with partners to reposition where this is light. Plan, commission and edit sponsored reports, case studies and e-books, and make sure they read as insight. Edit copy from the production team for sense, accuracy and whether anyone would want to read it.
