Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Occupational Medicine / Urgent Care Physician – Locum Tenens Puyallup / Tacoma, Washington | Outpatient Occupational Health Rhino Medical is seeking a Physician (MD/DO) for an Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care locum tenens opportunity in Puyallup, Washington, with additional coverage in the Tacoma area as needed. This outpatient position offers a diverse clinical practice combining workplace injury management, employment-related physical examinations, and walk-in urgent care. Physicians will provide hands-on clinical services while collaborating with employers and workplace health teams to support employee safety, recovery, and return-to-work readiness. Practice Setting: Outpatient Occupational Health and Urgent Care Clinical Focus: Workplace injuries, occupational examinations, walk-in urgent care, and employer-directed health services DOT Requirement: Active DOT Medical Examiner certification required before the first shift Schedule: Full-Time Assignment Dates: 11/30/26 - 2/28/27 - options to extend Clinical Responsibilities Diagnose, evaluate, and treat work-related injuries and occupational illnesses Perform pre-placement and employment-related physical examinations Conduct DOT physical examinations in accordance with applicable federal requirements Complete public safety and medical surveillance examinations for private employers and governmental agencies Evaluate and treat walk-in urgent care patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries Perform appropriate in-office procedures within the physician's clinical competency and scope of practice Develop treatment plans, coordinate follow-up care, and provide appropriate return-to-work recommendations Communicate with employers regarding occupational health findings, work restrictions, and employee medical needs in accordance with applicable privacy requirements Provide medical guidance related to workplace health, injury prevention, and employee wellness Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation Deliver welcoming, skillful, and respectful care throughout every patient encounter Required Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Active Washington medical license or other valid authorization to practice medicine in Washington Clinical experience in Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care, or a closely related outpatient setting DOT Medical Examiner certification required before the first scheduled shift Experience evaluating and treating occupational injuries and common urgent care conditions Ability to perform employment-related examinations and appropriate office-based procedures Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and timely documentation practices Ability and willingness to provide occasional coverage in Tacoma-area clinics Comfortable working with employer-directed occupational health programs and diverse patient populations Practice Environment Established outpatient Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care setting Work-related injury evaluation and treatment DOT, pre-placement, public safety, and medical surveillance examinations Walk-in urgent care services Employer-focused medical services and return-to-work care Opportunities to practice across Puyallup and Tacoma-area locations Interested in This Opportunity?
