Join the Future of Space Propulsion We are seeking an Electric Propulsion Test Technician to support the development and acceptance testing of next-generation spacecraft propulsion systems. This role is ideal for technicians who thrive in a hands-on laboratory environment and have experience working with vacuum systems, cryogenic equipment, high-pressure gas systems, precision mechanical integration, and aerospace hardware. You will work directly alongside engineers and test personnel to execute hotfire testing campaigns on Hall-effect thrusters and spacecraft propulsion assemblies while maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and hardware integrity.
Primary Responsibilities
Thermal Vacuum Chamber (TVAC) Operations: Execute pump-down, vent, and recovery sequences on multiple Thermal Vacuum Chambers. Operate and monitor facility support systems including: Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) Gaseous Nitrogen (GN2) Cooling water chillers Compressed air systems Monitor vacuum chamber performance, cryopump temperatures, pressure recovery rates, and other critical facility telemetry during testing. Flight Hardware Integration Remove and install Hall-effect thrusters for test operations. Align flight hardware and instrumentation to precise engineering requirements. Assist with installation and alignment of multi-string spacecraft propulsion panels. Connect and disconnect electrical harnesses, fluid systems, and test equipment while following ESD and flight hardware handling procedures. Perform precision mechanical assembly and troubleshooting activities. Plumbing & Leak Detection Conduct helium leak checks using mass spectrometer leak detection equipment. Safely evacuate, vent, and purge high-pressure gas systems. Troubleshoot vacuum and gas system integrity issues. Support operation of roughing pumps and chamber vacuum infrastructure.
Required Qualifications: 3+ years of technical experience in one or more of the following environments: Aerospace Spacecraft Integration & Test Propulsion Testing Vacuum Systems Semiconductor Manufacturing Cryogenic Operations Laboratory/Test Facilities Why Apply? This is a rare opportunity to work directly on advanced electric propulsion systems that will power the next generation of spacecraft. You'll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge test hardware, state-of-the-art vacuum systems, and mission-critical aerospace technology while positioning yourself for long-term growth through a contract-to-hire pathway.
