For 30 years, CXR has been the most trusted community in global talent acquisition - invite-only by design, vendor-neutral, and built for the people doing the work of TA. Not a mailing list. Not a Slack channel. It's the room where the leaders behind some of the largest, most complex hiring operations in the world compare notes candidly, as peers. The product is that room, and it's only as good as the people in it. We're hiring a Director of Membership to find the next great members and bring them in - the role that decides who's in the room and drives how CXR grows. An admissions role, not a sales executive You won't hit a number by dragging in anyone who'll say yes. Selectivity is the point at CXR - not every company qualifies for membership, and our members prize exactly that: they sit in a room where everyone cleared the same bar. Your job is to protect that bar, not lower it to make a number. So you'll find the senior TA leaders who make the room sharper, build the case for each, and present the strongest to our owner, Chris, who personally interviews and approves every member. "Before you're admitted, you'll sit down with Chris" is the most powerful line you'll carry into a first conversation - and it's true. It's a revenue role, and you'll own a number for it, but the number is met by finding the right people, not the most. What you'll own Find and qualify senior TA leaders at organizations hiring a minimum of 2,000 new hires a year who would strengthen the community by actively contributing to it - directly and via their teams. Build pipeline where it converts: members who change jobs, referrals, alumni, the practitioner conference circuit, and targeted outreach. Make the case for each strong prospect and present the best to Chris for final approval. Represent CXR at four to six practitioner conferences a year, working a real target list - with or without CXR leadership. Steward your members through their first year so they engage, contribute, and renew. Protect the room. At member gatherings, you're part of the CXR team, hosting and supporting - never selling in the room.
What success looks like:
You'll ramp for a quarter before you close anything - learning the room, sitting in on interviews, building your list. From there: a steady flow of well-qualified prospects elevated each month, most of them approved, and about one excellent new member a month at full stride. Walking away from a questionable fit counts as a win here, not a miss.
Who you are:
The ideal fit is a peer-community or executive-membership sales leader. You've sold seats at a curated executive table and know this motion cold (think Evаnta / Gаrtner С-level Communities, Сhief, or The Cоnference Bоard), or you've carried a consultative, relationship-driven sale to senior leaders, ideally into talent acquisition itself. You build a pipeline, tell the real fits from the noise, and win on trust rather than pressure. You can hold your own in a room full of TA leaders. The door is also open if you're a talent acquisition leader, a Director, VP, or head of TA at a company hiring at real scale, who knows this world from the inside and whose network is the pipeline. Never carried a formal number but you're accountable, organized, and ready to hunt? Let's talk. Two things are non-negotiable. First, credibility in the room: members relate to you as a peer, not a salesperson. Second, the ability to hunt: you can own a number, build a pipeline from nothing, and do the follow-through that turns a conversation into a member. Where it goes If you love cultivating high-caliber networks, building pipelines, and scaling communities without compromising quality, the career path here is wide open. Success leads directly to an expanded role with deferred upside in the company’s success. We’re hiring the leader who wants to step up and own our entire growth engine. Compensation~$159K on-target earnings, genuinely uncapped - the more members you welcome, the more you earn, with no ceiling. Commission paid as CXR is paid - you're rewarded for members when they sign and fund - immediately. Full-time W-2, with room to grow the role and long-term upside as you prove it out. CXR is an equal-opportunity employer, and we mean it. Our team and our membership are diverse by design - if working alongside that is a problem for you, don't bother applying.
