Job Description:
All the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description.
Are you the type of person who is organized, trustworthy, resourceful, and gets things done without being micromanaged?
An independent business owner is seeking a highly dependable Business & Personal Assistant to provide direct support across small-business bookkeeping, personal organization, errands, scheduling, and family logistics.
This is a unique opportunity to work directly with an independent owner - not a large corporation or traditional office environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Business & Bookkeeping
Maintain and organize business books
Reconcile bank & credit-card accounts
Track income, expenses, invoices & payments
Organize receipts and financial records
Assist with monthly financial reporting
Prepare information for the owner's CPA/tax professional
Identify discrepancies and bring them to the owner's attention
Personal & Administrative Support
Manage calendars, appointments & scheduling
Make calls and coordinate vendors
Organize documents, bills & receipts
Handle occasional errands and pickups
Research and coordinate services
Help keep the owner's personal and business priorities organized
Family Support
School pickup and transportation
Occasional transportation to activities
Assist with after-school logistics
Provide dependable backup when the owner's schedule changes
THE WORK ARRANGEMENT
This role combines remote and onsite work.
Some days you'll be working from your own workspace managing the books and administrative tasks. Other days you'll be onsite handling errands, coordinating appointments, meeting with the owner, or providing school transportation.
The schedule is designed around results, reliability, and the owner's needs rather than sitting in an office simply to be present.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You may be a great fit if you are:
Trustworthy & exceptionally discreet
Dependable and punctual
Comfortable handling confidential financial information
Experienced with bookkeeping or small-business accounting
Comfortable with QuickBooks and Excel/Google Sheets
Organized and detail-oriented
A safe, responsible driver
Comfortable around children
Able to work independently
Resourceful and good at solving problems
Comfortable communicating directly with an owner
Flexible enough to switch from "reconcile the books" to "pick up the kid from school" without missing a beat
THIS ISN'T A TYPICAL JOB
We're looking for someone who wants to become a trusted right hand to an independent owner.
You won't be one employee in a large department with layers of management.
You'll work directly with the owner and have the opportunity to build a professional relationship based on trust, reliability, confidentiality, flexibility, and getting things done.
One day might involve reconciling a business account.
Another might involve scheduling a repair, organizing financial documents, and picking up a child from school.
Variety is part of the job - and so is trust.
COMPENSATION & FLEXIBILITY
Flexible part-time or full-time schedule | Hybrid work | Compensation based on experience and scope of responsibilities
Benefits are not a primary component of this opportunity. The focus is on creating a flexible, mutually beneficial working arrangement for the right person.
Background and driving-record checks may be required. xsgimln
THE BOTTOM LINE
If you're looking for a traditional 9-to-5 corporate accounting job, this probably isn't it.
If you're looking for an opportunity where your accounting skills, organizational ability, common sense, dependability, and personality all matter, we'd love to hear from you.
We're looking for the person who can be trusted with the books, the schedule, the errands and the school pickup.
Apply with your resume and a brief introduction explaining why this type of direct-to-owner position interests you.
