Job Description: Job Position: Shipping & Receiving Clerk

$20.00/hrShift: 1st ShiftPOSITION TYPE: Full-Time, On-SitePOSITION OVERVIEWOur team is seeking a dependable, physically active Shipping and Receiving Clerk to handle daily incoming and outgoing shop freight. In this essential role, you will safely load and unload trucks via forklift, properly tag incoming parts, package finished work, and process shipping documents (including packing slips and bills of lading) using our shop software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLoad & Unload Freight: Safely operate certified forklift trucks to load outgoing goods and unload incoming shipments, ensuring truck drivers experience minimal downtime.
Receiving & Inspection: Receive customer parts, verify paperwork, properly tag/identify incoming orders, and route work orders to designated departments.
Shipping & Packaging: Ensure outgoing orders are properly packaged (stretch wrapping, banding, container limits), double-check paperwork accuracy, and prepare freight for dispatch.
Documentation & Logistics: Generate packing slips and Bills of Lading (BOLs) using Bluestreak software, create UPS shipping documents, and process customer-required digital paperwork.
Expediting & Support: Assist the Plant Manager in locating and expediting priority customer shipments.
Facility Safety & Order: Maintain a clean, tidy work environment and comply with all plant safety protocols (including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Hazardous Materials training).WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORCommunication: Clear English communication skills to interact effectively with plant managers, co-workers, customers, and freight delivery drivers.
Technical Skills:
Ability to read work orders/specifications and basic comfort learning digital shipping platforms (Bluestreak, UPS online).Equipment Operation: Ability and certification to operate forklift trucks safely (3-5 years experience)
Physical Requirements:
Sound physical condition for a active role requiring standing for most of the shift, navigating shop environments, and maintaining excellent eyesight and depth perception. Work Ethic & Reliability: High attention to detail to prevent part mix-ups, low absenteeism/tardiness, and a strong commitment to safe practices.
