Job Description:
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support a community retail pharmacy under the direction of the pharmacist-in-charge. This role will manage prescription intake and filling, provide prior authorization support, and engage frequently with patients at the counter while maintaining accurate, compliant, and efficient pharmacy operations. Spanish-language capability is required.
Responsibilities:
Process prescription intake, filling, reconciliation, data entry, and medication labeling.
Provide prior authorization support and process insurance claims.
Assist patients with frequent counter interactions and prescription-related questions.
Perform medication dispensing and pharmaceutical calculations under pharmacist supervision.
Manage inventory, including inventory control, daily stocking, and local deliveries.
Maintain pharmacy compliance and complete pharmacy cleaning duties.
Required Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience in pharmacy technician operations.
Experience with medication dispensing, pharmaceutical calculations, prescription data entry, and inventory control.
Experience with insurance claims processing.
Proficiency with PrimeRX (Micromerchant).Strong attention to detail, patient communication, and teamwork skills.
Spanish-language capability.
Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
