The work is substantial. Highway projects run up to $100M, and the PM has real ownership of the job — production, crews, cost, schedule, and profitability. The biggest differentiator is how they reward performance. The base salary is competitive, but the bonus is tied directly to the net operating profit of your projects. With individual project profits ranging from $2M to $10M+, the upside is significant. On the right project, a single bonus check can exceed your annual base salary. This is not a role where the PM is removed from the field or buried behind paperwork. They want someone who understands how work gets built, how production drives margin, and how to work alongside field leadership to keep a job moving and profitable.
