VP - Business DevelopmentVP, Business Development - Corporate Trade & Media Solutions
Location: Woodcliff Lake, NJ (onsite 5 days/week when not traveling)
Travel: ~50%, for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events
Compensation: $150,000 base salary + uncapped commission and bonus
About the Company:
We're a veteran-owned corporate-trade and media-solutions firm that helps leading consumer brands unlock value from underperforming assets and reinvest it into media, marketing, and other strategic initiatives. Our work sits at the intersection of corporate trade, asset monetization, media strategy, and financial solutions, serving consumer-facing organizations with significant annual advertising spend.
The Opportunity:
We're seeking a polished, consultative VP of Business Development to win and grow relationships with major enterprise clients. In this role, you'll engage senior Finance and Marketing leaders and help them convert eligible assets - excess inventory, real estate, fleet vehicles, capital equipment, and more - into trade credit that funds media and other business investments. This is a field-based, individual-contributor role built for a hunter who thrives on long, consultative sales cycles (typically 3-6 months or more) and wants to sell a sophisticated, high-value solution rather than a commoditized product - with strong long-term earning potential to match.
What You'll Do:- Develop and close new business with enterprise, consumer-facing companies
- Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, including CEOs, CFOs, COOs, Presidents, CMOs, and other Marketing leaders
- Position our asset-monetization and media solutions as strategic answers to financial and advertising-investment challenges
- Conduct thoughtful discovery to identify business needs, underperforming assets, and opportunities to create value
- Own the full sales cycle - prospecting, outreach, negotiation, contract development, close, and account expansion
- Generate new opportunities through networking, cold outreach, conferences, and trade shows, in addition to inbound leads from our internal business-development team
- Partner with internal sales, media, finance, and operations teams to structure compelling client solutions
- Negotiate commercial terms and maintain accurate pipeline and account records
- What You'll Bring 5+ years of successful outside, consultative, enterprise, or complex B2B sales experience
- A track record of selling and influencing at the executive level within large organizations
- Background in financial services, fintech, commercial real estate, financial advisory, digital media, adtech, martech, media investment, or another complex solution-sales environment
- Strong financial and business acumen - comfortable discussing P&L impact, asset value, and strategic financial solutions
- Familiarity with media, advertising, or digital/programmatic marketing investment is a plus
- Excellent executive-level communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- A proactive hunter mindset, with resilience and comfort navigating objections
- Ability to manage a multi-stakeholder sales cycle of 3-6 months or longer
- Willingness to work onsite five days a week when not traveling, and to travel approximately 50% of the time
Why Join Us:- An entrepreneurial, high-growth environment with direct access to senior leadership
- The chance to work on distinctive transactions blending finance, asset monetization, media, and technology
- The opportunity to build relationships with major consumer brands and their executive teams
- A competitive base salary, uncapped commission, strong benefits, and meaningful career-growth potential
