Professional Search Group (PSG) is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our clients accounting team and take ownership of the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of approximately 3–4 properties. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the full cycle accounting for your assigned properties and work closely with internal teams, property managers, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • Handle full cycle accounting for a portfolio of 3–4 properties
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and property-level financial reports
  • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activityAssist with month-end and year-end close
  • Review property expenses and maintain accurate general ledger activityAssist with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis as needed
  • Work with property management teams to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records
  • Assist with audits and other accounting projects as needed
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Property accounting or real estate accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with full cycle accounting and month-end close
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate is a hands-on accountant who is comfortable taking ownership of their assigned properties from day-to-day transactions through month-end close and financial reporting. Someone with experience in property management, commercial real estate, multifamily, or other real estate accounting environments would be a strong fit.
