Job Description:
Maxon Plastics, Inc. , a small, family-owned plastics injection molding company, is looking for a Plastic Injection Mold Operator and Mold Set-up to join our team in Batavia, IL.The Plastic Injection Mold Operator and Mold Set-up sets up molds and operates injection-molding machines to cast products from thermoplastic materials: Installs dies on the machine according to work specifications, using clamps, bolts, and hand tools.
Responsibilities:
Sets up molds and sets machine controls, regulating molding temperature, volume of plastic, molding pressure, and time, according to knowledge of plastics and molding procedures.
Adds premixed plastic pellets into the hopper and starts the machine.
May trim excess material from parts, using a knife.
Mixes thermoplastic materials and coloring pigments in a mixing machine, according to formula.
Grinds scrap plastic for reuse.
Cleans grinders.
Runs machines to produce products, boxes products according to specifications, and puts boxes into inventory.
Prepares, builds, and wraps skids for shipments.
QC experience is a PLUS.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and certification.2+ years of job experience in a similar role and industry.
Operate production equipment and auxiliary equipment.
Able to lift 55 pounds.
Preferred Requirements:
Able to remain stationary for extended periods, typically one hour (rarely).Have the dexterity to inspect the quality of plastic injection molds. SALARY WILL BE BASED ON EXPERIENCE.
