IP Associate / Patent Agent – BostonDirect Counsel is representing a leading AmLaw 100 firm seeking an IP Associate or Patent Agent to join its growing Intellectual Property Practice in Boston. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in the biological sciences and experience with patent prosecution and portfolio matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
Evaluate patent portfolios and conduct IP due diligence.
Work directly with clients across a variety of industries.
Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's national and global platform.
Provide strategic IP support and exceptional client service.
Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant patent drafting and prosecution experience.
Strong background in biological sciences.
Ph.D. required in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
Must be registered to practice before the USPTO / Patent Bar.
Associate candidates must be admitted or eligible for admission to the Massachusetts Bar.
Law firm experience preferred.
Excellent academic credentials and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to work directly with clients.

CompensationIP Associate: $235,000–$365,000 Patent Agent: $150,000–$185,000 Plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
