Registered Nurse Bariatric Med-Surg

Memorial Health in Savannah, GA seeks a Registered Nurse for our Bariatric Med-Surg unit. The RN delivers compassionate, evidence-based care to bariatric and medical-surgical patients, including pre- and post-operative monitoring, medication administration, wound and drain care, and patient/family education. Responsibilities include assessing patient status, developing and updating care plans, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team, and ensuring safe transitions of care. The RN supports quality improvement, follows all safety and infection control standards, and mentors team members in a collaborative, learning-focused environment. Deliver direct bariatric and medical-surgical nursing care, including assessments and vital sign monitoring Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per provider orders and protocols Perform wound care, drain management, and post-operative monitoring for bariatric patients Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans Educate patients and families on disease management, bariatric procedures, and discharge instructions Collaborate with physicians, therapists, dietitians, and ancillary staff for coordinated care Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records and documentation Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives Precept or mentor new staff and support a collaborative team culture Bariatric patient care Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment and triage IV therapy and medication administration Post-operative monitoring and care Wound and drain management Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Patient and family education Infection prevention and control Interdisciplinary care coordination Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active Georgia RN license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Bariatric Nursing Certification preferred Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (CMSRN) preferred
