APPLY NOWPart-Time Graduate Research Assistant — Composite Micromechanics & Surrogate Modeling Optimuos | Part-time / Flexible We’re hiring a part-time research assistant to work on computational micromechanics and surrogate modeling for composite material systems.
Note:
this is continuum/micromechanics modeling — not molecular dynamics or atomistic simulation. Please don’t apply if your background is MD/DFT.Expertise we need:· Composite micromechanics and homogenisation — Mori-Tanaka, orientation averaging, laminate analogy, RVE-based methods· Quantitative image analysis for microstructure characterisation — segmentation, structure-tensor or FFT-based orientation extraction (Python/OpenCV or equivalent)· Finite element analysis implemented programmatically rather than through a GUI — open-source frameworks (FEniCS, CalculiX) or Abaqus scripting· Constitutive material modeling· Model validation against experimental data, with properly bounded uncertainty· Surrogate / reduced-order modeling using machine learning· Python for simulation automation Background in mechanical engineering, materials science, or computational mechanics — MS/PhD or equivalent hands-on research experience. To apply: email your resume to optimuos.plus@gmail.com with a couple of lines on your micromechanics or surrogate modeling experience.
