Deputy Comptroller (Program/Budget)

Job TitleJob Description Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Plans, directs, and coordinates the budget program of the Department of War (DoW). Establishes plans and policies for the conduct of these programs and recommends overall policies to the Under Secretary of War (Comptroller)(USW(C))/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Secretary of War from budgetary viewpoints. Directs the strategic formulation, justification, and defense of DoW resource portfolios and policy initiatives for use by the Secretary of War, the Deputy Secretary of War, the USW(C)/CFO, and other senior DoW leadership. Serves as the principal advisor to the USW(C)/CFO for establishing the strategic basis, justification, and alignment of major features within the proposed DoW program and budget, ensuring the DoW's critical capabilities are robustly defended and institutionalized. Provides executive leadership for the planning, direction, and continuous modernization of the DoW programming and resource allocation frameworks. Directs the architecture, integration, and modernization of enterprise-wide business and budgeting systems to optimize real-time decision-making and maximize the agile deployment of total DoW resources.
