Role Description:
This is a part-time on-site role for a Tutor at Merritt College located in Oakland, CA. The Tutor will be responsible for providing academic support to students, conducting one-on-one and group tutoring sessions, assisting with study skills, and helping students understand course material. Tutors will also collaborate with faculty to assess student needs and progress.
Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of the subject matter being tutored
Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
Experience in tutoring or teaching
Patience and empathy towards students
Passing grade and instructor recommendation in the subject area or related field
Understanding of different learning styles and methodologies
Urgent need for statistics, computer science, child development and spanish tutors.
